जूलियस सीजर 

    नौकर कहता है -"मालिक! प्रीस्ट ने कहा है, आज आपका बाहर जाना ठीक नहीं है, आज १५ मार्च, है जो आपके जीवन के लिए खतरनाक है!' नौकर आगे कहता है-"मालिक प्रीस्ट ने आपके लिए जिस जानवर की बलि दी उसके अंदर दिल ही नहीं था!" नौकर की बात सुनकर सीजर कहता है -"आज गॉड  भी सीजर से डर गया, सीजर और डर दो शेर हैं, सीजर डर से बड़ा है! यदि आज सीजर सेनेट नहीं जाएगा तो वह भी उस बिना दिल बाले जानवर के समान होगा जिसकी बलि प्रीस्ट ने मेरे लिए दी थी!" तभी कल्पुर्निया सीजर के सामने घुटनों के बल बैठकर कहती -''आज आप मेरी खातिर मत जाओ मुझे डर लग रहा है! मैं मार्क अंटोनी से कह दूगी वह सीनेट में  कह देगा कि आज आप ठीक नहीं हैं! कल्पुर्निया की बात सुनकर सीजर कहता है- "ठीक है आज तुम्हारी खातिर मैं  मार्क अंटोनी से कह दूंगा कि  वह सीनेट में जाकर कह दे  आज ममैं नहीं आ रहा हूँ!" तभी डेसियस आता है और सीजर का अभिवादन करता है,  डेसियस को देखकर सीजर कहता है -'' डेसियस! तुम सही समय पर आये आज में सीनेट नहीं जा रहा यह बात तुम सीनेट में बता देना!"  डेसियस पूछता है -"क्यों?  मैं सीनेट में जाकर क्या कहूँगा, महान सीजर आज सीनेट क्यों नहीं आये! सीजर कहता है -" डेसियस यदि मैं  कहूँ कि मैं जा नहीं सकता तो यह सही नही है, मुझे डर लगता है कि आज  मेरे साथ बुरा होगा यह भी सही नहीं है! तुम सिर्फ इतना कहना कि आज मैं सीनेट नहीं आ  सकता! तभी कल्पुर्निया कहती है-"कह देना कि आज सीजर बीमार है!" सीजर कहता कहता है-"नहीं! मैं झूठ नहीं बोल सकता क्या मैं इतना डरपोक हूँ कि झूठ बोलूं ? क्या मैंने इतने युद्ध इसीलिए जीते हैं कि मैं झूठ बोलकर सीनेट जाने से रुक जाऊ!  मैं सिर्फ इसलिए नहीं जाना चाहता कि आज मेरी पत्नी डरी  हुई है, उसने डरावना सपना देखा है जिसमें मेरे पुतले में से कई पाईपों के द्वारा खून निकल रहा है जिसमें रोम के  शक्तिशाली नेता हाथ धो रहे हैं !" इतना सुनकर  डेसियस कहता है -"इस सपने का आप गलत अर्थ निकाल कर डर रहे हैं, यह तो एक अच्छा संकेत है  इसमें आपके पुतले से खून निकलने का मतलब है आपके खून से रोम को  नई उर्जा मिलेगी जिससे रोम शक्तिशाली होगा! हाथ धोने का मतलब यह कि रोम के शक्तिशाली नेता अपने रुमाल आपके खून के रंग से लाल करके एक नई पहचान नया मोमेंटम बनाना चाहते हैं!" सीजर खुश हो जाता है और  डेसियस से कहता है -" डेसियस तुमने सपने का सही अर्थ निकाला है!"  डेसियस कहता है-"आज सीनेट में सभी सीनेटर आपको क्राउन पहनाने की तैयारी कर रहे हैं आज आपको रोम का शासक बना दिया जाएगा ! यदि आज आप सीनेट नहीं जाते  तो हो सकता है उनका विचार बदल जाए!" अब सीजर  डेसियस की बातों से पूरी तरह संतुष्ट हो  गया और कल्पुर्निया से बोला-"तुम्हारा डर बेबख़ुवी था लाओ मेरा रोब दो मैं  सीनेट जाऊंगा!" तभी पेबिलियस , ब्रूटस, लिगेरियस, मेतालियस, कास्का, ट्रबोनियस और सिन्ना आ  जाते हैं! सबको एक साथ अपने घर में देखकर सीजर खुश हो जाता है और कहता है - "आओ दोस्तों सबको देखकर दिल खुश हो गया आओ पहले सब मिलकर वाइन पीते है फिर साथ में सीनेट चलते हैं!" सीजर इस  बात से पूरी तरह बेखबर है  कि इनके मन में सीजर के लिए क्या भाव हैं वे सीजर के पास क्यों आये है! ब्रूटस दुखी है कि वह सीजर का दोस्त नहीं है अपितु दोस्त बनने का ढोंग कर रहा ! सब मिलकर सीजर के साथ वाइन  पीते हैं इसके बाद सब सीजर को लेकर सीनेट चल देते हैं! सीजर को इस बात का जरा भी भान नहीं होता कि आज उसके साथ क्या होने बाला है,  जिन्हें वह अपना मित्र समझ रहा वह उसकी जान के दुश्मन हैं ,  किसी भी कीमत पर उसे जीवित  नहीं देखना चाहते, सीजर को पता भी नहीं है कि जिनके साथ जा रहा है, वह उसके दोस्त नहीं हैं, ब्रूटस इस बात से दुखी है, वह जानता है  आज सीजर के साथ क्या होने  वाला जो सीजर उसे अपना मित्र मानता है,  वह उसका मित्र  नहीँ है! 

जूलियस सीजर की सीनेट में हत्या करते हुए 

    सीजर के साथ ब्रूटस, केसियस, कस्का, डेसियस, मेटालस, ट्राबेनियस, सिन्ना, लेपिडस, पाबीलुस, पब्लियस आदि सीनेट में उपिस्थित होते हैं, सीजर सीनेट की कार्यवाही का आदेश देता है! जैसे ही सीनेट की कार्यवाही शुरू होती है, सीजर सभी सीनेटर से पूछता है-" क्या सभी सेनेटर आगे की कार्यवाही  के लिए तैयार हैं? " तभी  मेटालस सिम्बर खड़ा हो जाता है और हाथ जोडकर कहता है-"हे शक्तिशाली सीजर, हे महान सीजर मैं  आपके सामने हाथ जोडकर खड़ा हूँ, मेरी प्रार्थना सुनो!" सीजर कहता है- "नहीं सिम्बर मैं  तुम्हारी प्रार्थना नहीं सुन सकता तुम्हारा झुका हुआ सिर आम आदमी का खून खोला देगा! सिम्बर मैं तुम्हारे लिए कानून नहीं बदल सकता! दिया हुआ निर्णय वापिस नहीं लिया जा सकता, तुम्हारा भाई दोषी था, इसलिए उसे देश निकाले की सजा दी गई है, जो  सही है! यदि तुम निर्णय बदलने के लिए जोर डालोगे तो मैं  तुम्हे कुत्ते की तरह दुत्कार दूंगा! सिम्बर, सीजर 'ध्रुब तारे' के समान है, वह अपने निर्णय को नहीं बदल सकता जैसे  ध्रुब तारा एक स्थान पर अडिग रहता है!" आगे सीजर कहता -" सीजर कभी गलत नहीं करता, जो करता है सही करता है, तुम्हारे भाई पब्लियस सिम्बर को जो देश निकाले की सजा दी है वह बिलकुल सही है!" तभी मेतालियस सिम्बर हाथ ऊँचे उठाकर कहता है -"क्या कोई आबाज आज मेरे  लिए नहीं उठेगी ? क्या आज कोई मेरे भाई की सजा माफ़ कराने के लिए नहीं बोलेगा?" तभी ब्रूटस खड़ा हो जाता है,  कहता है - "हे महान सीजर मैं आपके हाथों को चूमना चाहता हूँ, आपकी चापलूसी में नहीं अपितु इसलिए कि आप सिम्बर के भाई की सजा माफ़ कर दे, वह रोम वापिस आ सके!" ब्रूटस की बात सुनकर सीजर अचंभित रह जाता है उसे इस बात अहसास भी नहीं था कि कभी ब्रूटस इस तरह बात करेगा उसे एक झटका सा लगा, ब्रूटस की बात सुनकर वह ब्रूटस की तरफ मुखातिब हुआ और बोला -"ब्रूटस तुम भी इनका साथ दे रहे हो!

    केसियस खड़ा होकर कहता-"हे महान सीजर मैं आपको पैरों में झुककर प्रार्थना करता हूँ आप पब्लियस सिम्बर की सजा माफ़ कर दीजिये!" केसियस सीजर के पैरों पर झुक जाता है लेकिन सीजर कहता है -"कोई और होता तो शायद आपकी प्रार्थना सुन लेता लेकिन मैं ऐसा नहीं कर सकता जैसे ध्रुब तारा अन्य तारों के समान अपना स्थान नहीं बदलता उसी तरह मैं भी अपना निर्णय नहीं बदल सकता सिम्बर के भाई की सजा माफ़ नहीं की सकती!" इस बातचीत के दौरान बहुत सारे सेनेटर सीजर को घेर लेते है! सीजर कुछ भी समझ पाता इससे पहले कास्का छुरा निकलकर सीजर के सीने में घोंप देता है, सीजर को कल्पना भी नहीं थी कि उसके साथ ऐसा होगा क्योंकि वह जिन लोगों के साथ था वे उसके अपने थे कोई उसका रिश्तेदार था, कोई भाई था, कोई दोस्त था,  सभी अपनी मर्यादा , रिश्ते  छोडकर सीजर पर चारों तरफ से बार पर बार करने  लगे हर घाव के साथ सीजर की चीखें गूंजने लगी चारों तरफ उसके अपने उस पर बेरहमी से बार कर रहे थे! सीजर के सामने ब्रूटस था जिसे देखकर उम्मीद की एक किरन उसे दिखाई दी तभी ब्रूटस ने अपने कपड़ों से छुरा निकाला और सीजर के सीने में घोंप दिया सीजर की आँखे अचरज से फ़ैल गई, उसके मुख से सिर्फ दो शब्द निकले-"ब्रूटस तुम भी"   सीजर के लिए यह कल्पना से परे था कि  ब्रूटस भी उसकी हत्या में शामिल होगा, सीजर के सारे दर्द , जख्म जो दूसरे लोगों ने दिए थे हल्के हो गये,  ब्रूटस के  एक ही घाव ने ऐसा जख्म दिया जिसे वह शारीरिक एवं मानसिक रूप से सह न सका और जमीन पर गिर गया,  उसकी पवित्र आत्मा उसका साथ छोडकर चली गई........................ ................................
