सुकरात एक महान दार्शनिक होने के साथ एक ईमानदार, सच्चे एवं देश देशभक्त इन्सानथे! सुकरात के अनुसार सत्य वह नही है जो किसी बड़े व्यक्ति ने कहा है! अपतु सत्य वह है जो आपने परखा है! जिसे ज्ञान की कसौटी पर जांचा गया है! सुकरात का जीवन सादा और विचार उच्च थे!वे कभी भोगविलास के पक्षधर नही रहे! नं ही उनकी देश भक्ति पर संदेह किया जा सकता है! इसी कारण उनकी ख्याति देश की सीमाओं से बाहर भी फ़ैल गयी! एक बार एक विदेशी राजा उनसे मिलने आया मिलकर बोला- मैं चाहता हूँ आप मेरे देश में चलें मैं अपने राज दरवार मेंआपको ऊँचा स्थान दूंगा! आपको सारे राजसी सुख प्राप्त होंगे जो यहाँ प्राप्त नही हैं! लेकिन सुकरात ने यह कह कर मना कर दिया कि मैं आपकी क्रपा का भार नही उठा सकता, मुझे अपने देश में वह सब प्राप्त हे जो मुझे आवश्यक है! मैं इस देश की मिटटी में जीता हूँ , इसकी हवा में साँस लेता हूँ!एक बार सुकरात कही जा रहे थे , वही एक व्यक्ति मिला वह उनसे बोला,- मैं आपके मित्र के वारे में कुछ बताना चाह्ता हूँ ! वह आगे कुछ कहता इससे पहले वे बोले-- आप मुझे कुछ बताने से पूर्व मेरे तीन प्रश्नों के उत्तर दें- मेरा पहला प्रश हे जो बात आप मुझे बताने जा रहे हो क्या वह सत्य हे? उसने कहा नही यह तो मैंने किसी और से सुनी हे! दूसरा प्रश्न - मुझे जो बताने जा रहे क्या वह मेरे लिए अच्छ हे? उसने कहा नहीं अपितु इसके ठीक इसके विपरीत हे! ठीक हे मेरा अगला प्रशं हे- आप जो बताने जा रहे हो क्या वह मेरे लिए उपयोगी हे? उसने उत्तर दिया - नही वह आपके लिए उपयोगी भी नही हे1
सुकरात कहने लगे -देखो मित्र कोई बात जो सत्य है य नही इसका आपको पता नही, वह मेरे लिए अच्छी भी नही है! उस बात की मेरे जीवन में कोई उपयोगिता भी नही हे! फिर ऐसी बात करने का क्या लाभ! वह व्यक्ति बिना कुछ बोले चला गया!
Socrates was a great philosopher as well as an honest, true and patriotic person! According to Socrates, the truth is not what a great man has said. But the truth is that which you have tried! Which has been tested on the test of knowledge! Socrates' life was simple and thoughts were high
He was never in favor of indulgence! Nor can his patriotism be doubted! For this reason his fame spread beyond the borders of the country. Once a foreign king came to meet him and said together - I want you to go to my country, I will give you a high position in my royal court! You will get all the majestic pleasures which are not available here! But Socrates refused saying that I cannot bear the burden of your grace, I have all that I need in my country! I live in the soil of this country, its airI breathe!
Once Socrates was going somewhere, he found the same person, he said to him, - I want to tell something about your friend! Before he said anything further, he said - before you tell me anything, answer my three questions - my first question is what you are going to tell me, is it true? He said no, I have heard this from someone else! Second question - is what you are going to tell me good for me? He said no but just the opposite! ok my next question is what are you going to tell is that good for me? He said no but just the opposite! Ok my next question is - is what you are going to tell useful to me? He replied - No it is not useful for you either.
Socrates started saying - Look friend, you do not know anything which is true or not, it is not good for me either! That thing is of no use in my life. Then what is the use of talking like this! The man left without saying anything!
